English Language Learners

The English Language Learners (ELL) Program

The ESL Program provides services to English Language Learners attending St. Charles Parish Public Schools in grades K-12 and their families. The primary focus of ESL instruction is the development of English language proficiency.  Appropriate instructional accommodations are implemented by the classroom teachers and ESL instructors.

English Learners are initially identified and then exited from the ESL program in accordance to Louisiana Bulletin 111, CH 40, §4001, D; and the English Learner Guidebook, July 2020.

Mission Statement

The mission of the ESL Program in St. Charles Parish Public Schools is to assist English Language Learners in becoming proficient in the English communication skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing in order for them to become responsible, productive citizens and enthusiastic life-long learners.
