Title I Math Support

Middle school students struggling with math can receive supplemental intervention services through the Education Excellence Fund and Title I. Students are identified and screened for potential mathematics difficulties, and interventions are provided. In grades 6-8, interventions focus on rational numbers with explicit and systematic instruction. This includes providing models of proficient problem-solving, verbalization of thought processes, guided practice, corrective feedback, and frequent cumulative review.  Students have opportunities to work with visual representations of mathematical ideas through both instructors and the Imagine Math intervention platform.  Intervention includes approximately 10 minutes of building fluent retrieval of basic arithmetic facts, 20 minutes of online asynchronous learning, and 20 minutes of small group instruction with the math interventionist.
