Title I

What Is Title I?
Title I is the largest federal funding program for elementary and secondary schools. Its goal is simple but vital: ensuring that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education.
In our district, Title I funds are directed toward schools with higher percentages of students from low-income families. These resources help us bridge the opportunity gap by providing extra academic support, specialized staff, and enriched learning materials that might otherwise be out of reach
How Title I Supports SCPPS Students
-
Targeted Instruction: Funds often pay for additional reading and math specialists to help students who need a boost.
-
Professional Development: We use these resources to provide teachers with advanced training and evidence-based instructional strategies.
-
Family Engagement: Title I empowers parents and caregivers to be active partners in their child’s education through workshops and home-school resources.
-
Technology & Materials: From updated classroom tech to supplemental learning kits, Title I helps put the right tools in the right hands
