Out of Attendance Zone Waiver
Out of Attendance Zone Waiver Requests are considered for students PreK 4 through 8th grade in need of child care, are a legal resident of St. Charles Parish and full time St. Charles Parish Public Schools full time employee, or is a Non-Resident Certified Employee of St. Charles Parish Public Schools.
- Waivers must be renewed annually and no later than the established deadline for subsequent school years.
- Pre-Kindergarten student placement is determined by specific program regulations and takes precedence over any Out of Attendance Zone Waiver request that may be granted. Out of Attendance Zone Waiver requests do not guarantee placement in any program or school.
- Waivers may be revoked due to any of the following: repeated violations of school rules, repeated early and/or late arrivals or pick ups to school, not attending school from and/or returning to the child care provider (as applicable), or your child commits an expellable offense.
OZ Waiver (Child Care): The School Board grants resident parents/legal guardians of St. Charles Parish the opportunity to enroll their PreK-4 to 8th grade children in a SCPPS school zone outside their residential attendance zone for child care purposes if the enrolled child’s day care services are located in the requested SCPPS attendance zone. When requesting a school outside your attendance zone due to child care, the Before and After School Child Care Program at that school is not accessible for your use.
OZ Waiver (Employee): The School Board grants full-time employees residing in St. Charles Parish the opportunity to enroll their K-12 child(ren) in a St. Charles Parish Public School outside their residential attendance zone. PreK students who have been accepted into a SCPPS PreK Program or those who have disability and a valid IEP may apply for the OZ waiver.
OZ Waiver (Non-Resident Certified Employee): The School Board grants non-resident, certificated employees the privilege of enrolling their K-12 child(ren) in St. Charles Parish Public Schools. PreK students who have been accepted into a SCPPS PreK Program or those who have a disability and a valid IEP may apply for the OZ waiver. Proof of legal guardianship must be provided. In order to offset the costs, an annual fee per student will be assessed.
