Destrehan High School, home of the Fighting Wildcats, was established in 1926 and moved to its present location in 1976. Led by Principal Jason Madere, the school is home to nearly 1,300 students and 100 employees. It serves students in grades 9-12 from the east bank of St. Charles Parish. Our school offers a comprehensive education for all students providing them with opportunities to reach their full potential by participating in numerous academic programs, the arts, extracurricular activities and athletics. With the community's support in placing education as a priority, we have been able to continually improve to reflect the ever-changing needs of the community. This is done by providing students with the best resources and educational experiences possible.
