Applications for Scholarship Due June 1

Applications are currently being accepted for the Ethel Schoeffner Scholarship from college students currently majoring in education or nursing who graduated from Destrehan or Hahnville High School. The scholarship awards $500 per semester up to a maximum of $2,500.

Allemands Teacher Performs Lifesaving Maneuver

On April 8, Kelly Benedict’s attentiveness and training made a critical difference during an emergency in the school cafeteria. When a student began choking, she quickly responded and performed the Heimlich maneuver. “I am so grateful to SCPPS for their First Aid and CPR training which allowed me to act quickly and respond in an emergency situation with one of my students,“ she shared. “I am so happy that I was at the right place at the right time to help someone.”

SCPPS Hosts Most Successful Educator Job Fair to Date

St. Charles Parish Public Schools welcomed more than 140 prospective educators to its 2025 Educator Job Fair on Wednesday, April 30, marking the largest turnout in the district’s recent history and reinforcing SCPPS’s standing as a top-performing and highly sought-after employer in Louisiana and beyond.

Hosted at the Professional Learning Center, the event brought together candidates from across the state and five others from out of state, with 222 applicants invited and 170 confirming attendance. More than 140 were interviewed on site, and by the end of the day, 24 conditional employment contracts were signed, with several more candidates invited to conduct demonstration lessons at schools throughout the district.

In a celebration of excellence, dedication, and the spirit of public service, St. Charles Parish Public Schools proudly honored its 2025 Staff Achievement Award winners at a heartfelt ceremony on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at The Old Church Luling. These employees were selected from a record 183 nomination forms this year submitted by colleagues, parents, and community members.
