MISSION & PHILOSOPHY

The mission of St. Charles Parish Public Schools is to develop empathetic, involved, productive, and responsible citizens by providing every student with high-quality educational experiences that empower each to become enthusiastic lifelong learners.

St. Charles Parish Public Schools, nestled along the banks of the Mississippi River in southeast Louisiana, has been at the forefront of education and is a leader among public schools in Louisiana. This close knit community takes pride in its Triple A school system focused on academics, athletics, and the arts.

Bus Registration Now Open for SCPPS Students

As plans and preparations continue for the 2025-2026 school year, St. Charles Parish Public Schools is working to ensure a smooth start for all students. To assist with this effort, families are asked to complete the bus registration process for each student who will utilize SCPPS transportation services.

Just the Facts: A Recap of the July School Board Meeting

The St. Charles Parish School Board held its monthly meeting on July 16, 2025, at the Professional Learning Center in Luling. Agenda items included student recognitions and the approval of a resolution reinstating vendor compensation, proposals for cybersecurity software, insurance purchases, personnel updates, instructional support additions, the 2025-2026 Student Code of Conduct: District Handbook, and the Interim FY26 Budget.

  • A: Academics, Athletics, & the Arts – Destrehan’s Marley Richard makes LHSAA history with four individual Outdoor Track & Field state titles in one season.

  • B: The Bulletin Board – An overview of School Board responsibilities and recent actions to invest in employees and support recruitment and retention.

  • C: Conference with the Superintendent – Updates on the Satellite Center’s expansion and the continued partnership with local industry to provide students with hands-on, career-focused learning.

  • D: Developments & Direction – The Class of 2025 becomes the 100th graduating class at both Destrehan and Hahnville High Schools, leaving behind a legacy of achievement and resilience.
