The mission of St. Charles Parish Public Schools is to develop empathetic, involved, productive, and responsible citizens by providing every student with high-quality educational experiences that empower each to become enthusiastic lifelong learners.

St. Charles Parish Public Schools, nestled along the banks of the Mississippi River in southeast Louisiana, has been at the forefront of education and is a leader among public schools in Louisiana. SCPPS Earns "A" District Rating

The Louisiana Department of Education has released the 2025 school and district performance scores for K-12 public schools statewide. For the fourth year in a row, St. Charles Parish Public Schools saw an increase in its district performance score, becoming an “A” school district for the first time since Louisiana’s current accountability system took effect in 2017-2018.

Students of the Year Honored at Annual Ceremony

Destrehan High School's Cecilia Cody, J.B. Martin Middle School's Kenidee Miranda, and St. Rose Elementary School's Akshay Parasuraman were announced as St. Charles Parish Public Schools' 2025-2026 Students of the Year at a ceremony held on November 13, 2025, at the Dr. Rodney R. Lafon Performing Arts Center. Nine additional students were also recognized at the red carpet event as their individual school's Student of the Year.

Superintendent Hosts Breakfast Honoring SCPPS Employees Who Served

Superintendent Dr. Ken Oertling recently hosted his seventh annual Veterans Day Breakfast at the Professional Learning Center in Luling to honor St. Charles Parish Public Schools employees who have served in the United States Armed Forces. The annual event recognizes the dedication and sacrifice of these employees, celebrating both their military service and their continued commitment to the students and families of St. Charles Parish.
